Don't you just love it when the highlight of your day is somthing simple?

Today was full of Saturday stuff. Soccer, bottle depot, soft plastic recycling, filling the wood box, homemade soup for lunch, burning of yard/building waste, poop patrol, roasted hot dogs, Quinn Bachand's CD release concert. The day may have been full but the best part of the was abundantly clear.

Friday Foo Foo Favorite

In an attempt to put some structure in to this blog I have decided to make Fridays special. I know that Fridays a inherently special so maybe what I really mean is catchy. And whats more catchy that "Favorite Friday"? I know, Foo Foo Friday. Favorite Foo Foo Friday? Is foo foo a real word?

So it is. Do you think that Favorite Foo Foo Friday is too specific and thus limiting me to what I can post? OK, I think I will just have to let this thing sort itself out over time. For today I will feature my favorite coffee/tea mug. Don't you just love it? It is the kind of mug that feels sturdy when held in one hand while I run out the door to get the girls to school. It is the perfect size and shape to be cradled in two hands as I needily sip a hot comforting beverage. It looks good too! Practical and pretty. Do you see why it is a favorite? P.S. It is also a Starbucks mug which, in itself, makes it something to be favored.

What kind of cake are you?

Today's funny: You know all those terms of endearment we all use? Sweetie Pie, Honey Bun, Cutie Patootie, Mad Scientist etc,etc. Well this morning, when it was time to go to school, I said "Lexi Cake, it's time to go" Then I looked at her and asked, " If you were a cake, what kind of cake would be?" At this point I was thinking Strawberry Short Cake. She looked at me with that high eyebrow I know it all kind of look and said in her very best drippin' with honey kind of voice, " Angle Food Cake"

I laughed but you know, she is so right.
Just look at her in her monogrammed purple head band with those long piggy tails, polka dot school bag and sparkly red converse shoes. Is that not the attire of an earth angle?







Day two done. I'm off to watch Grey's Anatomy now.

Here goes....

Every year for the past oh so many years I have made the same New Years Resolution. Get and stay in touch with those that I love but rarely speak to. Coupled with this years resolution is a list that I wrote, it is called 40 things I want to do before I turn 41. Number 1 on that list is to start a blog. Here is where I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. (there must be a passive idiom for that one)

Here is where I will post my daily events. OK, that is the optimist in me trying to make a break for it but here is where the realist puts her 2 cents in.(I am liking the idioms today) Well maybe not every day,maybe every few days or once a week, we will just have to see how it goes. But I will try for daily. Wow, there is a battle going on here between the optimist and the realist. I wonder where the pessimist is today?

It's hard to know just where to start so I am going to start with today. If you have any questions about the last eight years please feel free to ask away. I will do my very best to remember. I also encourage random comments,you know, things like "that's amazing" and "are you crazy?" Last but not least, I would like to thank you all in advance for your patience in what I am sure will be a large learning project.

As it turns out I am starting with yesterday because it took me that long to get this post finished and I already uploaded the pictures.

The girls were home sick yesterday. To be honest, Xana is sick, Lexi has a slight cold but she really wanted to stay home with her sister and I am just a bit of a softy in these matters. But look at the cute pictures I got out of it!

There, I've started. Phew! .....oh, the pressure.
