All I can say is some things are just too beautiful to be captured by a mear camera. (but look at that cute kitty cat.) Really, the tiles look so different than this in person.

The first day of Christmas....

Lexi and I went to Butchart Gardens. It is their first night of the Christmas lights. It was also the opening of their newest addition, a wonderful old fashioned carousal. We rode it twice. Lexi rode the camel and the frog and if you can believe this...I can not remember which animal I had the pleasure of riding. I am sure Lexi will remember, I'll ask her tomorrow. It was a lovely evening capped off with a hot chocolate sipped while watching/listening to the brass quartet play Christmas carols. sigh...I love Christmas.

Another new view

So today was a crazy day for me and I was in and out of the house, in a mad rush mind you, about 5 times. As a result, I did not check in with any one until 9:30 tonight. I looking for the boys after getting the girls to bed. I expected to find them working hard, one on the computer perhaps and the other drilling, sanding, nailing or painting something. But this is what I found and what an exciting find it was. Welcome home Lewis.

OK this one looks kind of cluttered but really it looks like "home"

There, that is a better view.

It's Friday! Not that that means much of a difference around here. It's just another work day...but we can justify a little beer.

Look Maxime look! It's your room!

We are just sittin' here a waitin' for ya Maxime.

I sense some frustration here...

Ah ha! Now it is really starting to feel like a home.

The ever changing view.

The office gets stuff.

weekend of November 21/22

We did a huge number of things this weekend especially if we count the pro D day as part of the weekend. Here are the highlights however.

We made play dough.

Xana went to see the second movie in the Twilight series. She has read all the books, four I think.

We started painting Lexi's room!! Stay tuned...

Sean worked on the upstairs bathroom most of the weekend. Mostly stuff that will not be seen in the finished product. He did start the floor tile though.

Other things we did;

1)made brownies.

2)moved boxes from the old place to the new.

3)cleaned the fridge.

4)painted the ceilings of Lexi's rm, the guest rm and the hallway.

5)hours of homework.

6)3 chapters of Alex and the Ironic Gentleman. Great book by the way.

7) 1 chapter of The Eye of the Crow. Young Sherlock Holmes.

8)several chapters of The life of Pi. Also a great book.

9)2 trips to Home Depot.

10) 1 trip to the mall.

11)Music lessons.

12)caught a rat.

13)made a beautiful Sunday breakfast among several other necessary meals.

14) 2 loads of laundry.

15) had a quick visit with Steph and Damon.

16)sang a little to Walker.

OK I am tired now.

What happened on our side last weekend.(Nov14/15)

Xana and I did the final touch ups in her room.

And then she danced with joy.

The very 1st thing to be moved into her room.

The very 1st night slept in her room and shared with her sister.

It was a good weekend.

Renovation Update

OK, it is painfully clear that I am not good at this whole blogging thing. I am 40+ years now, when , oh when, will I find something I am good at? Better a week late than never at all, right?

See, I told you it would look different. (shot Nov 14th)

This is my attempt in capturing the color of the walls.

Bathroom floor tile.
This is called working on a weekend.

And what a productive weekend it was.

And the moving in begins...

Favorite Friday

One of my favorite things to do these days is to take Russell for a walk to Island View Beach. I love the forest trails around our house, they are beautiful, amazing in fact. But this time of year when it is slightly on the gloomy side the forest can be dark. You know, the kind of forest that conjures up thoughts of cougars and witches and scary winged creatures and things. The beach though, it is bright and fresh and has just the right amount of happy friendly people walking their dog. We went after school today, the girls and I and 3 of Xana's friends. It was lovely. I forgot my camera today but here are some pics from a family walk in October.

OK, so on that day, for Lexi and Xana, it was more like a wrestle on the beach that a walk.

Mount Baker.

Do you see why it is one of my favorite things?
Happy Friday Everyone.
