This too will pass. I know because my Mom told me so.

Maybe it's the full moon.
Maybe it's the recent time change.
Maybe it's the sudden drop in temperature.
Maybe it's the excitement/stress about our upcoming trip to the Koots.
Maybe it's just what happens when there is one old and young premenstrual women in the house...at the same time.
But things are just a little off in our home tonight.

I'm going to bed now and will try again tomorrow.

Snow?!? That's weird.

A most unusual thing happened today. It snowed in Victoria. You would think that I would go out and take pictures of this rare event. But Nnoooo....not me. Oh well, at least I have a bunch from December. Not such a strange time for us to see snow but the amount we were blessed with was special. This picture of the house doesn't show the snow at it's deepest but I think you get the idea. The snow in December impacted our life in some really great ways. We enjoyed more family time that normal. I did not drive for weeks, I liked that. Amazingly, is was all timed for the Christmas Holiday, not one missed day of school.

As you can see from these captured moments we had same great fun in all that fluffy white stuff. We went for long walks, we threw snow balls, we did a lot of sledding on the fancy new sled that Sean and Lewis made us due to the fact that they could not fine our store bought one. It was hanging on the outside wall of the wood shed, in plain sight, I could see it from the front door of the house. But never mind that because I love the new sled. It really is far superior and every time I look at it my chest fills with pride at how Sean and his brothers can do just anything if they decide they want to. I mean really, who goes out sledding with their daughters and in the time it takes the Mom to get herself snow geared up (after getting the rest of the family bundled up mind you)and stuff extra mittens, tissues,a camera and a cell phone (you know, just in case) in her pockets can build a sled, a really good sled, big enough to comfortably seat two adults or three children. They never cease to amaze me.

I could go on and on about all that we did and experienced due to our December snow but it would just take too long. I will say this, I am grateful to have been able to have a winter holiday in my own back yard and not have to drive to Mt Washington and rent a cabin to get it.

Today was a great day.
Today was a party day.
One year ago today our family grew by one more.
Today we celebrated the birth of our little Felix.
Happy Birthday Cutie Patooty.

Happy Birthday to you...(do you hear the music?)

Grammie D made the Teddy Bear cake and not only was it adorable, it was yummy.

Gift time. Most of the gifts required assembly. Daddy's patience will be tested tonight.

This was my personal favorite. Do I feel a theme for next year?

More that one guest that knows me well tried to start a betting pool on just how long I will keep the decorations up. I will keep you posted. Get it, "post"ed. Ha Ha Ha!! OK, I think I am getting tired.

This was supposed to be one of the activities for the little guests but it snowed yesterday and it was really cold out.

Happy little construction player.

After all the guests went home Uncle Sean serenaded the Birthday Boy.

Good Night My Love.
I Love You.

Where did Tuesday go?

Sometimes the days just evaporate like one of those dreams that you know you had but can't really remember. Your left with a vague feeling that there was something that happened but...

Oh well, on to another day. Which, by the way is almost over. All I have to do is attack this lovely little pile and I can go to bed.

I'll just put on my metaphoric Viking helmet and super hero cape and it will be a breeze.

Good Night my Family and Friends.

Pro D Monday

Late last night I remembered that today was a Pro D Day. How happy was I that I did remember. I have been known to show up at the school complete with packed lunches to find an empty parking lot. What a waste of a perfectly good sleep in that is.

But not this morning. Xana got the biggest sleep in but Lexi, Sean and I enjoyed a leisurely sunny morning walk to the inlet with Russell Dog. When Xana finally rolled out of bed at 10:40 we started splitting up our day into half hour sections. Here are a couple of ways we spent our half hours.

Look at that face of concentration.

(That reminds me that I need to register them for their music exams before tomorrow.)

Enjoy your day, your should celebrate it with a cheesy pasta casserole for lunch.

Silly Sunday

Lexi and Felix just being silly.
This is Lexi tying up her sister with rope and masking tape.
Me. On a good day.
Whatever, at least she washed her hair this week.

Just thought I would take a moment here to share some silly family moments.
